Francis Xavier Dempsey was born in 1862 in Kansas to parents Laurence Dempsey and Belinda O'Leary who were Irish immigrants. He was the seventh of nine children. The others were: Aloysius, Alphonsus, Elizabeth (Sr. Mary Leo), James, Katherine, Thomas, Sarah (Sr. Euphemia) and Michael.This photograph was taken on his ranch in South Dakota. He also lived in Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Washington. |

Francis Xavier (Frank) and Katherine (Kit) were married on August 16, 1887. Together they had six children, five boys and one girl: Bernard, Paul, Frances, Earl, Leonard, and Thomas. (See photo of Leonard, Earl, and Tom) |

They moved to Washington State where they had a place in Enumclaw.Frank died January 14, 1944, and Kit died November 28, 1960. |
