Catherine Maher was born in Camden, New York. She married John Brodie (b. New York 1845) in 1864 in New York. They had a daughter, Catherine, born March 13, 1871 in New York, and a son, John Brodie, Jr.
In May of 1895 she married again to John Finigan. Together they had a son, John Finigan, Jr. Mr. Finigan died December 1, 1932, and Catherine moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. Catherine also had a daughter, Mrs. R.S. Mockett.
When she died at age 86 Catherine Finigan was the grandmother of 17 grandchildren. (Information from her obituary found in papers of Earl L. Dempsey, her grandson).
